Shaken Baby Syndrome / Abusive Head Trauma (SBS/AHT) injuries are the leading cause of death and disability in children under the age of 5 due to child abuse. Approximately 1/3 of the children who are abused in this manner will die and non-fatal injuries often result in permanent disabilities. This webinar will provide participants with an understanding of the mechanism of injury involved in Abusive Head Trauma injuries, the symptoms and triggers associated with this form of abuse and provide information on how to prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome. The webinar provides important information for parents, high school students, child care providers, and other caregivers of children. Participants will leave the webinar with the tools to develop a Coping With Crying Plan and be provided with a link to a Letter of Promise.
