In 2001 Maine was selected as one of four states in a pilot program for a Department of Justice funded initiative to create and expand the fatality review team concept, and to develop and disseminate a replication and best practices guide. Following years of case reviews, the presenters will share their experience developing and implementing a nationally-recognized Elder Fatality Review Team in Maine, and what the forensic nurse brings to the team.
