I’m off to DC for the long weekend, but before I go, a couple things that might be of interest. The first is the final post over at the sustainability site before we go on hiatus to plan the next phase of the project. Check out our 10 tips for sustainability, and be sure to pass along to others who might find it helpful. {Note: as of this posting, the site was down. I will fix the link when the site is back up.}
Also, check out a great opportunity to honor a community champion or program volunteer:
L’Oreal Paris Announces Fifth Annual Women of Worth Award Program Honoring Volunteerism
L’Oreal Paris has announced their fifth annual Women of Worth awards program. The program is designed to honor women from across the United States for their inspiring volunteer achievements and outstanding commitment to community service.
To be eligible, a nominee must be 18 years or older, have a record of exemplary service within her community and the community at large, be able to demonstrate the impact of her work within her community, be aspirational and inspirational to others, demonstrate commitment to her cause, exemplify leadership, and not be compensated for her community service.
The program will select ten winners, each of whom will receive $5,000 for their personal charitable cause. A matching donation will also be made in each winner’s name to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. In addition, one national honoree will receive an extra $25,000 donation to her charitable organization. The national honoree will be chosen via a public online vote held this fall.
Self-nominations are accepted.
For more information about the program and to submit a nomination, visit the Women of Worth Web site.
