A few things that have been piled up in my inbox that are worth mentioning. The first is a new CME offering (and really, Medscape, you could only manage to make this one for docs?): Domestic Violence Intervention Improves Referral, Disclosure Rates, based on research published this month in The Lancet.
A few people also sent me this post from Jezebel, in which the author discusses the experience of her toddler undergoing a sexual assault evaluation. It was a fascinating (and quick) read–take a look if you get a chance.
And finally, a report from the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and HIV-Affected Intimate Partner Violence 2010 (PDF). If nothing else, please look at the Executive Summary, because these patients are in your practice. If they’re not, it’s only because you’re not looking.
