I hope everyone had a peaceful holiday (or at least enjoyed a few days off if you don’t celebrate). Today I want to round out some continuing education sources for those of you in need of finishing the year with a few extra in hand (see here for Part I). All are available for nursing CEs; CME credits are available as indicated.
International Association of Forensic Nurses
There are way too many to list here, but this is obviously an excellent source for forensic-related continuing education. You can find all of the archived webinars in the Online Learning Center. Cost is between $30 and $35 (depending on the length of the course).
American Nurses Association (FYI: there doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to the way these are priced…)
Bullying in the Workplace: Reversing a Culture ($19.95/member; $29.95 non-member)
Compassion Fatigue: A Requisite Nursing Agenda (free/members; $19.95/non-members)
Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes are High (free/members; $39/non-members)
Evidence Based Practice ($35/members; $45/non-members)
Moral Courage in Nursing: Acting Ethically Even in the Presence of Risk (free/members; $20/non-members)
Navigating Social Media: What Nurses Need to Know ($15/members; $30/non-members)
When Closeness Breeds Cruelty: Helping Victims of Intimate Partner Violence ($15/members; $20/non-members)
Emergency Nurses Association
CEN Review Web Series Module 9: Professional Issues and Psychological and Social Emergencies ($30/members; $50/non-members)
Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (CDC): All offerings are free and provide either CEUs or CMEs.
US Department of Veterans Affairs
There are 20 modules on PTSD, many of which have attached CEU and CME credit. All are free.
NetCE (CEU and CME): Unless otherwise marked, all are $19 for a 5 credit course, so they’re a great bargain.
Human Trafficking and Exploitation
Elder Abuse: Cultural Contexts and Implications
Child Abuse in Ethnic Minority and Immigrant Communities ($29 for 10 credits)
Violence in the Healthcare Workplace
Digital Technology and Domestic Violence ($15 for 3 credits)
